Four kinds of work, one output: a set somebody can build from without ringing you to ask what you meant.
Documentation
Shop drawings
Cover, plans, elevations, enlarged items, sections and details, schedules and install sheets. Numbered n OF n, with a live revision block and callouts reconciled in both directions before the set leaves. The package a reviewer can stamp and a machinist can cut from, which are two different jobs.
Commercial
Commercial casework
Hospitality, workplace, retail, healthcare, education. Work that runs to schedules, submittals and a published standard, where the grade is specified and the review cycle is real. Coordination with the trades that arrive before and after you.
Architectural
Architectural woodwork
Reception desks, feature walls, ceilings, stairs, one-off assemblies. The work where the architect's drawing shows an outcome and somebody still has to decide how it is made, how it is carried in, and what happens where it meets the building.
Residential
Custom millwork
Cabinetry and built-ins. Fewer sheets, tighter tolerances against walls nobody built straight, and a client standing in the room. Scribes and clearances decided on the drawing rather than improvised on site.
